UK Hostels – Backpackers Accommodation

The United Kingdom (UK) offers travelers lush landscapes, historical villages and excellent backpacker accommodation. It is a popular region for travelers to begin their backpacking journey, with London, England being the largest and most visited city in the UK.  London’s world renowned shopping, nightlife, historical icons and of course Heathrow Airport attracts millions of visitors every year.

Backpacker Hostels in London are clean, affordable and do a great English breakfast. Generator Hostel and the centrally located Piccadilly Backpackers London are large hostels suitable for party goers, while the historical London Holland Park Hostel offers a quieter stay in the plush Kensington area.

If backpacking in London only, try to find time to journey out to nearby towns such as the picturesque Bath or Salisbury, home to the Salisbury Cathedral and the perfect base for visiting Stonehenge.

Bordering to the north of England is Scotland. This wonderful country offers vibrant cultural cities plus great landscapes with rolling mountain peaks and mysterious lakes that make the perfect backdrop for its range of unique hostels.  Stay in a converted farm cottage by the Scotland Highlands or immerse yourself in history and choose a hostel in Edinburgh that has been converted from a 19th century church.

If time permits be sure to travel west to the culturally distinct and naturally beautiful Wales or grab the ferry to Northern Ireland.

Other popular destinations in the UK include York in Northern England and Inverness in Scotland.

Travelling from one UK hostel to the other is easily accomplished by train. A good idea is to pick up a BritRail pass before departing for the UK.
